  7. I am providing this information on Version 1.1 with the caveat that I
  8. will not be able to respond personally to all of the messages that it
  9. may generate.

  11. Registered owners of V1.0 will be able to download V1.1 free of
  12. connect time charges (network surcharges still apply, however).  
  13. There will also be an upgrade kit available through online ordering
  14. for $3.00 to 3.50 plus shipping and handling.    Everyone who ordered
  15. Version 1.0 online will be automatically registered.

  17. V1.1 is a maintenance release that fixes some (but not all)
  18. identified bugs. Its primary objective was to reduce the problems
  19. that people have had with modems that are not completely Hayes
  20. compatible.   A list of bugs fixed in V1.1 is in FIXV11.TXT in the
  21. General Information Library.   There is very little additional
  22. functionality.   CHGV11.TXT contains the details and the highlights
  23. are:

  25.      o   There is more control over modems and the timings used in
  26.          establishing a connection.
  27.  
  28.      o   Users can set various colors via a separate program.
  29.  
  30.      o   Mouse users can double click anywhere on a menu choice line
  31.          in terminal emulation mode and the menu choice will be
  32.          transmitted to CompuServe.
  33.  
  34.      o   A 'Leave' command (Ctrl+L) has been added to terminal
  35.          emulation mode which will return you directly to the main
  36.          desktop.

  38.      o   Control+T which marks forum topics for later retrieval
  39.          advances the highlight automatically to the next topic
  40.  
  41. If you do not have a mouse, have not been seriously affected by any
  42. of the documented bugs, and do not wish to change the colors, it may
  43. not be worthwhile for you to obtain Version 1.1.    The problem with
  44. requiring a large amount of free memory has not yet been addressed
  45. and Version 1.1 is 4K bigger than V1.0.

  47. Version 2.0 should be available late in the summer and will address
  48. the memory utilization issue.   The primary intent with V2.0 is to
  49. improve reliability and performance while making more of CompuServe
  50. services available in a desktop/windowed interface.   It will contain
  51. a number of enhancements and there will be a modest upgrade fee.

  53. The enhancements in V2.0 will include support for the Executive News
  54. Service, a mini-portfolio report capability, the ability to continue
  55. to do other forum activities while downloading a file, various other
  56. forum enhancements, and more.   There will be a few additional 'batch
  57. oriented' capabilities, however, those people looking for
  58. capabilities equivalent to Tapcis and Autosig will undoubtedly be
  59. disappointed.    Some further offline or automated capabilities will
  60. be in subsequent versions.
